My name is Ryan Rider and I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am 20 years old, I have one older brother and a 4 year old chocolate lab named Kamie and a 1 year old black lab named Cash. I started the addicting sport of waterfowl hunting when I was 11 years old. My brother finally let me tag along with him and a few of his buddies. They didn't let me bring my gun the first time out, but just being there and seeing the mallards come in just as planned!! I was hooked!!
From that moment on I knew that I would never stop duck hunting. I also enjoy fishing in the summer months and deer hunting when it's not duck season. Dog training has also become a big part of my life. I spent a lot of time working with my dogs, Cash and Kamie, in the off-season. I hunt all around Oklahoma, as far west as the Great Salt Plains and all over the northeastern parts of the state. From the first time I went hunting I have been blowing a duck call. Just this year I started blowing in competition.
I received 3rd place in the Mid-South Oklahoma State calling contest. I am currently sponsored by Caney River Custom Calls. I know with practice I'll continue to improve and hopefully be on the top some day. When I am not in the outdoors I attend Tulsa Community College to be a firefighter. I am very proud to be a part of a great company like Drake Waterfowl.
