Born and raised in Southern, Illinois, Ryan grew up around some of the best waterfowl hunting in the United States. Marion’s Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge is a historical wintering ground for the Canada Goose and is a hot spot for hunters from all over the country. Ryan is a first generation hunter and credits Wayne Corzine, Gary Hartline and Rodger Buff for teaching him hunting ethics and how to be successful in the field. Ryan graduated from Western Illinois University in 2001 and is a chemical salesman for Zep Mfg. It was no coincidence that Ryan chose a school that was just a short drive from the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers which are rich in waterfowling history. Ryan spent a lot of time hunting the public areas of the Illinois River Valley and in 2001 did his college internship in Wildlife Management at the Rice Lake Waterfowl Management area. After graduation Ryan spent 2002 in Rimini, South Carolina as an instructor at Camp Woodie, the nations leading waterfowl hunting camp for kids.
Along with Drake, Ryan is a Pro-Staffer for Haydels Game Calls and can be found at sporting shows all across the Midwest. During the waterfowl season Ryan spends well over 60 days in the field from the Northern Prairies of Canada to the coastal marshes of Louisiana while pursuing his love and passion for the outdoors and waterfowl. Ryan claims the best feeling is watching the world come to life while sitting in the duck blind with good friends.
