Rodney's hunting passion started shortly after he was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. He began by tagging along with his father until he was of age to be able to hunt on his own. Rodney moved to Colorado in spring of 1979 and increased his passion and desire for hunting. Having spent two years in the Pacific Northwest Rodney was turned onto goose hunting Willamette Valley style hunting in an area that winters over 200,000 geese including two protected species.
Rodney has done Law Enforcement for the state of Colorado, including a stint with the State Parks as a Parks Officer enforcing wildlife laws. He is a dedicated husband, married to Rhonda, and father with two sons Cherokee and Devon and a daughter Amber. All three of his children have received Rodney’s passion for hunting and started to going with him as soon as they could walk. The oldest, Cherokee, passed his hunters safety course in Colorado last year and is now hunting with Rodney and is well on his way to receiving the addiction for life.
Now, in addition to hunting most of the winter for live birds, Rodney can be found trying his luck and skills out on the stage of the goose calling contest circuit aiming for the elusive top place finish.
