My wife, April, and I have two beautiful, duck calling, children: Sam 7, and Holly 4.
I have a great passion for everything outdoors. However, waterfowling is my obsession. I began duck hunting when I was twelve years old. I began by hunting the rivers of central Tennessee. My family moved to SE Georgia when I was fifteen. I really "cut my teeth" hunting the old plantation rice fields of the Altamaha Waterfowl Management Area.
As a teenager I joined Ducks Unlimited as a Greenwing. The morals and values of good stewardship taught by my father and built upon by DU towards the outdoors helped to strengthen the foundation my parents worked hard to develop. My involvement with waterfowling and DU during the "awkward" teenage years helped to create my own identity. I owe a lot to those that took the time to spend with me as a kid and I am devoted whole-heartedly to giving back.
As a leader for one of the largest DU chapters in the state of Georgia, I am primarily focused on the kids. They are our future and every opportunity we get we need to do something that has a positive impact on their future.
During the hunting season I guide for Jay Wright's Shurashot Guide Service of Eastern St. Francis County, Arkansas. I am also a proud member of the Buck Gardner Calls team as a field staffer. The Spring finds me chasing turkeys around the woods of NW Georgia.
I am honored to be a member of the Drake Waterfowl team. I have spent many hours in the field exposed to the harshest elements and the products Drake Waterfowl produces are the only thing I have found that time after time stands up against all we face.
May God bless and remember to take a kid hunting.
