I am a native of Pennsylvania and now make my home in Tualatin, Oregon. I grew up in a hunting household with my father and grandfather taking us hunting for Pheasants, Ducks and Geese. I have to say that I have been hooked on the waterfowl tradition ever since the first early morning of setting up decoys, using a duck or goose call to bring a bird in range, then having your dog retrieve that bird to make the cycle complete. There is nothing like it in the world.
I am the owner and manufacturer of Columbia River Decoys Inc., which is my full time job. I handle the day to day molding and painting of every decoy that leaves my shop. I also just started a new line of duck calls (Hustler Duck Calls), and my own Decoy Depth Adjusters to compliment my decoys.
When the hunting season starts I get even busier, if that's possible. I manage the Amstad Duck and Goose Clubs in Sherwood, Oregon. I also guide at Pacific Wings Waterfowl Adventures in West Richland Washington, and for Ducks & Dogs LLC in Monmouth Oregon.
I feel that we are all so fortunate to be able to enjoy something that we have such a passion for that it only makes sense to give back to this great tradition. I have been a Ducks Unlimited member since my dad started a chapter in Pennsylvania when I was a kid. Here in Oregon, I have been a D.U. Area and District Chairman. I have also been a volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Oregon Waterfowl Festival. This coming year for the 2006 Festival, I have been named the OWF President.
I want to thank my wife Amy and daughter Gianna for being so supportive and both my family in Pennsylvania and my family here in Oregon.
