I just graduated with a B.S. in biology with hopes of going to medical school in the coming year. This program is very stressful at times, but I duck and goose hunt as much as possible to relax. Being in relatively close proximity to the North Carolina coast I have been given the chance to literally grow up, since the age of 4, hunting the famed Outer Banks and Lake Mattamuskett with my dad and his friends, hunting at least 50 days a season. I got my first duck call at age 12 and I never had anyone to instruct me personally so I wore out cassette tapes for 4 years until, at the age of 16, I entered my first contest. I won 3rd place in the NCDU duck calling contest and won the North Carolina State Junior title the following year. Since then I have had three top 5 finishes in the North Carolina State Men's contest the last three years. I hope to get my first State Men's title soon. When I'm not competing I spend my time chasing ducks, geese, and swans on the North Carolina coast. |
