From the first time I saw Drake Waterfowl gear I realized it was quality equipment made for serious hunters. You can tell it was developed by DUCK HUNTERS for duck hunters, all the little things have been well thought out and are right where I would have put them.

I started hunting with my father when I was 1 1/2 years old on our family farm. I wasn't tall enough to carry our thermos, so I've been told, you could see drag marks next to the little foot prints in the dirt. I was lucky enough to grow up on my family's 220 acre farm that borders thousands of acres of impounded and tidal marsh along the Delaware river.

I served a long apprenticeship with my Dad, finally taking the hunters safety course at age 12 and was allowed to carry a gun. I still remember my first duck, a blue wing teal hen, and my first goose. I hunted almost every day before and after school (to the detriment of my grades and athletic career). I entered my first calling contest my senior year.

After I graduated high school, I started guiding and blew in the Mason Dixon duck calling contest for my second contest. I was told to enter the World Goose at the same time and was lucky enough to win the World's in 1987 as my second contest, being the youngest ever to win the contest. (18 years and 3 months old )

Started traveling to contests more after that, and finished 4th at Easton the next year. Traveled to the U.S. Open and won the Big Island Regional prior to winning the 1989 Worlds. Traveled to Illinois for a few contests in 1990 in preparation for winning the 1990 Worlds. After becoming the first to win 3 times and be retired from Easton, I pretty much concentrated on guiding and competition duck calling, qualifying for the Worlds in Stuttgart 3 times.

I became involved with Sean Mann Outdoor Products in 1995 when we developed the prototype for the Eastern Shorty for me to blow at the first World Champion of Champions. I have been blowing Sean's calls ever since (I started hunting with a Shoreman in the early 90's)

Along the way, I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Entomology and applied ecology, with a concentration in wildlife conservation and a minor in biology. I now work as an agronomic consultant, making spraying recommendations to farmers, here on DelMarVa and in South Jersey. And in the winters I guide for Kevin Popo Guide Service and Sean Mann Outdoors.
