First of all I am thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the ability to hunt and fish. I feel totally blessed to experience creation on my own two feet from the marshes to agriculture fields to the mountains of the West. What an amazing place we live in here in North America.

I am a husband to my wife Christy (huntress) and father to Alivia 5 years old (first dove hunt this year), Sarah 3 years old (first dove hunt this year), and Jenna 2+ months old. We all love being in the outdoors. My wife usually joins me on one or two hunts per year. My oldest daughter, Alivia, will go on her first duck hunt this year. She is really excited.

The way I got started in the outdoors; my father introduced me to hunting in the delta region of California outside of Lodi, my hometown, when I was 4 or 5. I first started hunting the ringneck pheasant, but duck hunting was soon to follow. I was very active in sports such as soccer and baseball, and they took up most of my time as a youth. However, a few times, the duck opener fell on my birthday and my dad and I never missed one. I still enjoy playing and watching sports to this day, but the outdoors have taken over. Ever since college at the University of Nevada-Reno, duck hunting became a real passion. Now I look forward to each duck season to make memories with my father, my hunting partner, and my other hunting friends.

Each day in the field brings something different. Some days just being out there is therapy from this busy world we live in. Other days the sunrise or sunset is just spectacular! I really enjoy watching my lab, Willow, retrieve. She has a ton of energy and really enjoys being in the field. And then there are those "memory" hunts…The first time a new comer drops a drake mallard, their limit, a honker, a snow, or a spec or their first double. Hunting is just fun and relaxing and well, we just never know what is going to happen out there in our favorite spots.
