I really became active in the sport when I went to college and met, who are now, some very good friends. Living in South East Ohio there is not much in the way of duck hunting unless you go to the Ohio River. Since no one had a boat we were forced to hit the fields. This was the start of a new passion, my love for goose hunting. During the season you can find me in a lay-out blind, either in a corn or soybean field. Two years ago I was introduced to the art of lay-out hunting in big waters for divers. Almost instantly I was hooked on that aspect of waterfowl hunting. I have an 11 month old yellow lab female that I am currently training. I try to get out and hunt every chance I get. Not only do I hunt waterfowl, I also hunt deer, turkey, doves, and I love to fish. I took my passion for the outdoors and went to college to study Fish and Wildlife Management. I received an associate degree from Hocking College in Nelsonville Ohio. I then went on and got a bachelors degree in Wildlife Management from Rio Grande University in Rio Grande, Ohio. My education had allowed me to work outdoors and I love it. I have worked in South Dakota on a refuge. I am currently working for the United States Department of Agriculture trapping raccoons and vaccinating them against rabies. My goal is to one day have the opportunity to work with waterfowl. |
