I grew up in a family that loves the outdoors. I love to hunt pretty all game, but waterfowl is my passion. I began hunting waterfowl about 5 years ago and I have been addicted ever since. The only part I didn't like was the break between the waterfowl seasons. I had to find a way to keep the season alive all year long. I was introduced to duck calling competitions in 2002 and I entered my first contest in 2003. It was definitely a humbling experience due to the fact that I was sitting next to some guys in the bull pen that I watch on hunting videos at home. I have taken my lumps, but I have had two top five finishes and I am trying to build off of that. I like to talk about hunting as much as the next guy. I am a high school Physical Education Teacher and I developed a curriculum called Outdoor Education. This course allows me to introduce young people to the outdoors, some for the first time. It teaches the kids the fundamentals of Hunter Education as well as safety in the outdoors. I feel this class is important in educating the youth of today as they are the hunters of tomorrow. |
