I am happily married to my wife, Tracy, and have one son, Matthew, who at the age of 18 months is an honorary member of the Tim Grounds' "Grounds Crew". I currently serve as the Deputy Chief of our local Volunteer Fire Company. My desire to hunt started at the young age of 5 while living in NC, when I would go along with my Dad every chance I was allowed. I moved from NC at the age of 7 to Pennsylvania. Living in Pennsylvania you're not allowed to begin hunting until the age of 12, so the first chance I got in the woods was the first day archery season and I shot my first Doe. My passion for goose hunting was soon to follow, and my first time out I was able to get a 13 pound goose. That same day I called in two geese for some friends (which I believe was by accident, now that my knowledge of calling has grown). From that point, until I was 21, my waterfowl hunting had been almost completely cut out due to the declining number of birds and the absence of goose season for a couple years in the PA Atlantic flyway. In 2002 I began hunting Geese again and that's when things really took off. That year was relatively slow, but in 2003 I learned a lot and bought some new equipment, including my first Tim Grounds goose call after meeting him at a sales show. To say that he is a world class guy would be an understatement. When the 2004 season came my Dad & I decided to start a private club. That has turned out to be a great success to all those who have joined. I now spend several weeks a year in the field pursuing geese. My fulltime job at this time is project manger/estimator for an architectural millwork company. I also work as the PA, MD & DE sales rep for Higdon Decoys. |
