I grew up hunting whitetail deer in the Adirondack Mountians with my family and friends. I started hunting with my dad and grandfather at a young age and I remember all the great hunts we have had. Hunting has always been a big part of my life and it always will.
Eight years ago I took interest in waterfowling and have been hooked ever since. I still do a little deer hunting now and then between seasons but I find myself listening and looking for duck and geese. To me, nothing is better than scouting a good location and setting up a hunt for the next day. Getting permission to hunt local farms all summer long pays off in the end. Being prepared is also a key to being successful. Waterfowling is a hands-on sport and I think that is why I like it so much. From training dogs to making cork decoys, it is a year-long obsession for me.
I am a self-employed carpenter with a great family. My wife Lisa is wonderful, along with my 5 year old son Jarrett and 7 month old daughter Autumn. Jarrett is interested in hunting and loves to hunt and hang out with the guys. I go out of my way to make sure my son enjoys the hunt and has a good time - that's what it is all about! Teaching children and non-hunters about hunting/conservation will be the key for our future of this great sport.
