I've been hunting since I was 7 years old and fishing even younger. I have a wonderful wife, Joy and 2 great kids, Mikey(6) and Melody(10 months). I'm a full time Professional Retriever Trainer and I compete at all levels of both AKC and UKC Retriever programs. I belong to numerous organizations such as Professional Retriever Trainer's Association, The Hunting Retriever Club, Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited and the National Sporting Clays Association. I'm also a member of Sportdog Brand's Pro Staff as well as Buck Gardner Calls Pro Staff and Drake Waterfowl's Field Expert team. In addition to all of this, I also co-own a waterfowl forum called "The Duck Lodge". I enjoy getting kids involved in this great sport and have been a guide for the USFWS youth hunts for 5 years where I also taught the kids about retriever training as well as duck hunting ethics and fundamentals. In order for our sport to continue we must get the kids involved and show them why we love doing what we do. I was privileged to take my son (then 5 years old) on his first duck hunt and to see the look on his face when he killed his first duck that morning! That's something that will stick in my mind forever. He's been looking forward to hunting this year as much as I am. My wife also enjoys hunting with me from time to time, so I'm hoping that in time my little girl will also share the love for ducks with us. Duck hunters are exposed to some of the harshest weather conditions known to man. I've found that my Drake Waterfowl gear helps me to be comfortable in dealing with any weather I encounter while enjoying my obsession, waterfowling!
