Armond K. Schwing

"I sincerely feel like Drake has put tremendous thought and research into the development of their products. One of the things I love about waterfowling is the gear required to be successful. Because of that, I have always been keenly aware of what existed in the marketplace. When Drake made its way onto the scene, it was very obvious to me that they were light years ahead of the competition with their designs and features. So much so, that I really think they have no competition and are in a class of their own. The folks at Drake Waterfowl truly are Innovators in Waterfowl Hunting."

Armond Schwing is a seasoned waterfowl hunter with over 35 years experience in the field. He has hunted waterfowl as far north as High Level, Alberta in Canada. His travels in pursuit of wingshooting have taken him as far south as Cordoba, Argentina. However, his primary hunting locale is in the Deltas and Marshes of South Louisiana near where he resides.

Introduced, along with his younger brother, to the sport of waterfowling by his father and uncle at a very early age, he stills hunts with his father and brother regularly; and his uncle on occasion when the opportunity presents itself. He is now following in his mentors' footsteps by introducing his young children to the sport. It is already evident in his 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son that they share the same passion for waterfowling as their father, uncle, grandfather and great uncle. As soon as Armond's wife permits it, he intends to start taking their 5 year old daughter into the marsh for her first experience as well.

One of Armond's main interests is giving back to the sport that he enjoys so much. To do that he has taken an active role in volunteering with Ducks Unlimited to ensure that habitat are conserved so there is abundant waterfowl for future generations to hunt. Beginning in 2008, Armond became the State Chairman of Ducks Unlimited for the state of Louisiana. He considers that position of leadership in DU as one of the highest honors and responsibilities he can accept in his effort to impact the landscape that waterfowl need to survive.
