Bernie Boyle: 2005 World Duck Calling Champion of Champions!

Congratulations to Drake Elite Team member Bernie Boyle for capturing the 2005 World Duck Calling Champion of Champions title at the annual Wings Over the Prairie Festival held in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Bernie took home this prestigious title Saturday evening while crowded streets in downtown Stuttgart watched on. Already a two-time World Champion, this was his first attempt at the Champion of Champions crown. The Champion of Champions contest is held once every five years with former World Champions as the only ones that are eligible to compete. Once the Champion of Champions title is achieved in competition duck calling, the caller is considered "retired" from the sport. In summary, it is the highest pinnacle that can be obtained by a competition duck caller. The Champion of Champions title puts the finishing touches on a brilliant career for Bernie as he is currently the top ranked duck caller in the World on the Power Rankings at callingducks.com. Also, he has over 25 contest wins, including 2 World Championships and 3- 1st runner-ups. He has qualified for the World Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas 17 times and has won contests in 9 different states.

Also that evening, John Stephens captured his third World Championship Title that has eluded him for the past several years. In each of the last three years, John has finished in second place at the World Duck Calling Championship, just points away from his third and final World Championship title. The rule states that when a caller wins the World title three times, he/she can only compete in the Champion of Champions contest from there on out or until that title is obtained.
